Congratulations to Abbie Moore for her achievements at the world kettlebell competition 2013 in chicago!
Abbie, a stay-at-home mother of four, competed in two grueling event, the 16 kg long cycle and the pentathlon, metaling in both competitions. Not bad for her first competition!
In case you were wondering, the long cycle is a 10-minute set, allowing for only one change of hands. It requires incredible strength, endurance, and control as she is required to hold the weight completely still (in fixation) in the overhead position for .3 seconds on each repetition.
The pentathlon is no small fete either. As the name suggests, it consists of 5 exercises, each 6 minutes in length, with a 5 minutes rest in-between. The rule of fixation applies to each exercise. As you can imagine, to do both the long cycle and the pentathlon in one day requires a mental fortitude little possess.
Congratulations, one again, Abbie!
